The AI/ML Engineering subgroup is a Boulder-based community within RMAIIG for developers, researchers, and tech enthusiasts pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in AI and machine learning.

At our gatherings we alternate between deep dives into the theory of machine learning (reading papers and discussing the latest research) and discussions tackling real-world development challenges, from fine-tuning embedding models for RAG to exploring new tools from coding helpers to image processors. Seasoned academics, budding engineers, and the simply curious are all welcome.

Hey just a shoutout for a really useful API -- unstract.com/llmwhisperer -- this creates structured text out of PDFs, etc. I was finding that many of my LLM queries were getting super expensive (for failing completely) when looking across my document archive because of the cost of extracting data from LLMs. I'm using this to create .txt or .md files from them, and updated the app to ignore PDFs with a matching TXT file (by name) whose date is the same or… More →
